Privacy Policy

A short, plain-language explanation of what this site does with your information. The short answer: very little.

Last updated: October 10, 2026

In short

  • We only ask for one thing: your email, and only if you sign up for updates.
  • We use it to tell you about the book. We never sell it or share it for advertising.
  • No ads, no analytics, no tracking cookies.
  • The reader remembers your chapter and text size on your own device. That never reaches us.
  • You can unsubscribe or ask us to delete your email at any time: contact@hanzoandthesevenmoons.com.

01Who we are

hanzoandthesevenmoons.com is the official website of the novel Hanzo and the Seven Moons, written by Luis Lozano, based in Colombia. Luis Lozano is responsible for the personal information collected through this site.

Contact for anything related to your privacy: contact@hanzoandthesevenmoons.com.

02What we collect

  • Your email address, only if you enter it in the “Keep me notified” form. We don’t ask for your name or any other detail.
  • Basic technical data that every web server records automatically when a page loads, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the date and time. Our hosting provider keeps these logs to run the site and protect it against attacks.
  • Reader settings on your device. The in-browser reader stores your current chapter, reading position, text size and language in your browser’s local storage, so you can pick up where you left off. This information stays on your device. We can’t see it, and you can erase it by clearing your browser’s site data.

The “Ask Hanzo” conversation runs inside your browser. Your questions are not sent to us or stored anywhere.

The site has no advertising, no analytics tools and no tracking cookies.

03How we use your email

We use your email only to send you news about Hanzo and the Seven Moons: release dates, new chapters and new acts. We don’t send it to anyone for marketing, and we never sell, rent or trade it.

Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe.

04Your consent

By submitting the form, you agree that we may store and use your email for the purpose described above. This is the legal basis for processing it, under Colombian Law 1581 of 2012 and Decree 1377 of 2013 and, for visitors in the European Union, Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR. You can withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing or writing to us.

05Services that process data for us

We rely on a few providers to run the site. They only handle data as needed to provide their service:

  • Hostinger: hosts the website and keeps the server logs described above.
  • Formspree: receives the “Keep me notified” form and stores the emails submitted through it.
  • Google Fonts: serves the typefaces used on the site. When the page loads the fonts, Google receives your IP address. See Google’s privacy policy.

These providers may store information on servers outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union.

06How long we keep it

We keep your email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. After that, we remove it from our list. Server logs are kept by the hosting provider for a limited period, according to its own policies.

07Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • tell you whether we have your email and what we do with it;
  • correct or update it;
  • delete it, and stop sending you emails;
  • withdraw the consent you gave us.

Write to contact@hanzoandthesevenmoons.com from the address you signed up with. We answer queries within 10 business days and requests for correction or deletion within 15 business days, as Colombian law requires.

If you are in Colombia, you can also file a complaint with the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (SIC). If you are in the European Union, you can contact your local data protection authority. If you live in California: we do not sell or share personal information.

08Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their email addresses. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child signed up, write to contact@hanzoandthesevenmoons.com and we’ll delete it.

09Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and access to the email list is limited to the author. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the little information we hold.

10Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we’ll publish the new version on this page and update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we’ll let subscribers know by email.
